Fake Stories and Google...
Very interesting that someone (anyone) is talking about this with all the lies, deception, and such that pollute the internet anyway:

Anyone locally run into this (good or bad) as it relates to affecting them negatively with regards to client work and/or positively as it relates to something you tactically deploy yourself in your arsenal of tricks?
Would be interesting to know what folks think.
Personally, I don't mind the 'falsities'... however - a note or tag indicating the story/article/release isn't necessarily true and/or 'might be speculation' still gets a practitioner the traction that he/she is usually looking for... down the road, if this practice is more regulated and/or governed by Google, I wonder what folks will resort to then...

Misinformation can be good if you can refute it.

Sometimes misinformation can help improve your grip on a client. I love it when a client wants something done their way because of something they read on the internet. Usually it's wrong and that gives me the opportunity to present research and case studies I've done that support my theories. A couple of those lessons and they begin to trust you implicitly.
